Even in the vacuum of space
nothingness does not exist:
ubiquitous quantum bubbles
fizzle in and out of existence
with an unimaginably small effervescence
that sleeps like a whisper on the tip
of every sentient tongue.
Yet here on Earth
she twitches her legs like a relaxed tigress,
clawing the warped edges of her sensual silhouette
into my anxious periphery with the molten buoyancy
of an underwater volcano.
Whenever our waterfalls of consciousness collide
I softly wince as my over-matched heartbeats float by,
thumping a steady rhythm of surrender
into these heart-soaked edges of breathlessness.
